Sabumnim Shawn Darnell is a 2nd Degree Black Belt and
Certified Chief Instructor through Choi Kwang Do
International. He began his training in September 2001
with his daughter Keirsten Benninger under the
instruction of Sabumnim's Erin Austin (Erin Herman) and
Paul Harris. He became an Asst. Instructor in November
2002. He certified as a Chief Instructor in January 2005
and became the Head Instructor of Herman Choi Kwang Do
from January 2005 through June 2006. He opened up
Darnell Choi Kwang Do in the city of Farmington Hills in
June 2006 with the help and support of Sabumnim Stefanie
Toms. All of the people mentioned here
have had a tremendous positive impact and influence not
only in his Choi Kwang Do career but also in his
personal life. First being his daughter Keirsten
Benninger who is his shining light and motivation in
life. Second being his Choi Kwang Do Mentors Sabumnim's
Erin Herman and Paul Harris whose guidance and knowledge
of Choi Kwang Do has left an lasting mark. Third being
good friend (little sister) Sabumnim Stefanie Toms whose
positive attitude and spirit make anyone around her want
to strive for more out of their training. Fourth being
my Instructors, Students and Parents for their hard work
and dedication (THANK YOU). Last being The Founder and
Visionary of this GREAT and LIFE changing Martial Art
that we call CHOI KWANG DO, Grand Master Kwang Jo Choi. |

Sabumnim Gerald
Skupin is a 1st Degree Black Belt and Certified Chief
Instructor through Choi Kwang Do International. He began
his training in March 2003 along with his daughter
Peyton Skupin and son Anton Skupin. He became an Asst.
Instructor in November 2003. He Certified as a Chief
Instructor in August 2006 under Sabumnim Shawn Darnell. |
